Yobe SWAN Make a Call On NFF

This is post is due to the incident in Yobe state football. The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Yobe State and that of the coaches association have called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to wade into the election crisis rocking the Yobe State Football Association.
Though a new executive committee was elected at an election in Bauchi, which some stakeholders said they were not aware of it.
Yobe State SWAN Chairman, Jibo Zakari and his coaches association counterpart Abba Bulama said in a statement made available to  yesterday that members of the state football family in the state are worried by the ongoing wrangling in the body that has led to the failure to conclude its elections.
Consequently, the two bodies disassociate themselves from the Bauchi election and called for fresh election 'by following due process', adding that if the state-owned football team can play its home matches in Damaturu, there is no basis taking the FA election to Damaturu for any reason.
The two bodies also called on the NFF to quickly intervene in the already tensed atmosphere to avoid further disunity among soccer family in the state.

It would be recalled that some months back the election of new executive members of the association was scheduled to hold in Potiskum town about 100 kilometers away from the capital city of Damaturu, but it was marred, leading to its postponement.
However, a new executive emerged, with some aspirants, who bought nomination forms to contest in the election claiming they never knew of any election taking place in Bauchi.
Effort to get reaction from the Chairman of Yobe State Football Association, Alhaji Mohammed Garba proved difficult as his telephone line was switched off.
